West splits to finish out regular season

— The Mankato West baseball team finished out the regular season with a 10-4 win over Faribault and a 9-4 loss to Owatonna.
Adam Trautman led the offense against Faribault by driving in three RBIs. Trautman finished 2 for 4 with a double. Brock Lloyd went 3 for 4 with an RBI, Brendon Watts went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scores, and Tyler Kuch finished 2 for 4 with and RBI.
Luke Weber picked up the complete-game win.
Ben Peterson got stuck with the loss against Owatonna. Jon Howard hit a triple for the Scarlets.
West (13-7, 11-7) is the No. 6 seed for the Section 2AAA tournament. The Scarlets take on No. 10 seed Willmar at 7 p.m. Friday at Franklin Rogers Park.
