Valentine’s Day is, of course, a time when sweethearts, significant others and guilty husbands are inspired to express their affection in the form of flowers.
As a result, this holiday of the heart is to florists as Christmas is to department stores.
The florists at Becky’s Floral and Gift Shop and other area flower shops have been busy these last few days fielding calls, taking orders and delivering them to the proper destinations.
Roses, particularly red ones, are the flowers of the day. And when the dust settles, the florists at Becky’s will have cleaned, arranged and delivered several thousand of the fragrant blossoms that originated in South America.
