ELECTION RESULTS

Operating referendums in the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, Blue Earth Area and Maple River school districts passed during elections held today.

Referendums were defeated in Waseca and Le Center.

And in St. Peter, a capital levy was passed for deferred maintenance projects on schools while Jon Carlson, Robert Lambert and Peter Nelson were elected to the school board.

In St. Peter’s municipal elections, incumbent Tim Strand will remain the mayor. Strand pulled in 964 votes versus 499 for David “Eli” Hoehn.

For city council in Ward 1, the top two vote getters were Dan Eichmann with 379 votes and Susan Carlin with 367, and they will claim the ward’s two open seats. Runners up were Douglas Kvidera (180), Jim Johnson (263), Kelsie Peters (250) and Michael Steinhaus (129).

In Ward 2, Jerry Pfeifer won with 244 votes. Runners up were Amy C. Heilman (225) and David B. McGuire (65).
