WINTHROP

Three people were seriously injured in a broadside accident near Winthrop Sunday.

A car driven by Desirae M. Guscette, 17, of Belle Plaine, and a car driven by Dennis O. Pagel, 77, of Winthrop, collided at the intersection of Highway 15 and Sibley County 10, two miles north of Winthrop at 3:30 p.m.

Pagel had a passenger, 9-year-old Michael Crain, of Winthrop.

Guscette had non-life threatening injuries.

Crain was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center and Pagel to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. Condition reports on the two were not available Sunday night.

Neither Pagel nor Crain were wearing a seat belt.

According to the State Patrol, Pagel was eastbound on County 10 and turned northbound onto 15, while Guscette was southbound on Highway 15 when the accident occurred.
