MANKATO — The following students were recognized for excellence at the 2006 Loyola High School Scholarship Banquet: Laura Murray, daughter of Ann and Tom Murray, received the Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic/Cindy Williams Memorial Scholarship of $1,000; Joe Thom, son of Cindy and Jeff Thom, received the Lorraine M. Williams Scholarship Award of $500; Brian Evan, son of Deborah and Ronald Evan, received the Thomas F. Olson Memorial Scholarship of $400; Megan Woodruff, daughter of Barbara and Kurt Woodruff, received the Paul Weides Award of $200; Peter Banschbach, son of Kathleen Felt and John Banschbach, received the Jim Korth Award for $200; Nate Chicos, son of Barbara and Robert Chicos, received the Tomorrow’s Leaders Award of $4,500 and the Joe Lyons Memorial of $450; Andrew Schlosser, son of JoAnn and Thomas Schlosser, received the Paul Miler Award of $600; Bruce Tanhoff, son of Sue and Todd Tanhoff, received the Neil Votca Award of $400. Teresa Samlaska, daughter of Diane and Frank Samlaska, received the Robert H. Conley, MD, Endowment of $1,500. Laura Kinnischtzke, daughter of Joan and Dennis Kinnischtzke, received the Teresa Gerteisen Award of $400; Amy Cooper, daughter of Karen Cooper, received the Richard Huerkamp Memorial of $900; Mike Wesely, son of Joan and Donald Wesely, received the Craig Smasal Memorial of $450.

WINONA — The following students graduated from Winona State University following the 2007 spring semester: Amboy: Adam Grover (cum laude), Mankato: Gwendolynn Lueck, Adam Wright, Mapleton: Theodore Landsteiner (magna cum laude), Johanna Vanrossum (cum laude).
The following students were named to the Dean’s List at Winona State University for the 2007 spring semester: Mankato: Emily Beahm, Jessica Brandt, Jennifer Case, Andria Holtz, Kyle Koenen, Krysta Meyer, Monica Ngeno, Renata Piehl, Ryan Slack, Jason Slack, Good Thunder: Sidona Erickson.
Elisabeth Goebel
MANKATO — Elisabeth Goebel has been named the recipient of a $1,500 Creative Writing Talent Grant at Minnesota State University for the 2007-2008 academic school year.
Talent grants in the area of creative writing are based on a student’s portfolio of the student’s literary works. The portfolio is judged by a panel of MSU English professors.
Goebel is the daughter of Gordy and Binette Goebel of Mankato.
North Dakota State University
FARGO — Brian R. Dahl of Madison Lake, Namita Batra of Mankato, and Colleen A. Matthews of Mankato graduated from North Dakota State University in May 2007.
The following students were named to the spring 2007 Dean’s List at North Dakota State University: Good Thunder: Jessica R. Fitzsimmons, Mankato: Brian R. Cornelius, Megan K. Maxey, Danica L. Rifleman.
STRIVE Scholarship Winners
The STRIVE program, sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Mankato and North Mankato, awarded scholarships to the following students for their achievements in the STRIVE program: Mankato Loyola High School: Michael Berberich ($1,500), Tyler Kietzer ($1,000), Dan Rosfjord ($500); Mankato East High School: Asha Busuri ($1,500), Rainbow Henrichs ($1,000); Mankato West High School: Donovan Strowder ($1,500), Alexis (Lexi) Fritz ($1,000), Mason Graff ($500). The following students were presented with a $500 SCC scholarship for completing the STRIVE program in partnership with STRIVE and Rotary: Jack Sargent from Mankato Loyola High School, Rainbow Henrichs from Mankato East High School, and Heather Defries from Mankato West High School.
