Published May 14, 2008 04:51 pm - Empty tanker, bus collide near Mapleton The Free Press MAPLETON — Two drivers were injured after a school bus without passengers and semi tractor pulling an empty tanker collided at the intersection of Blue Earth County roads 29 and 7 Wednesday morning.
The school bus was traveling west on County Road 29 when the driver failed to yield for a stop sign and was hit broadside by the semi, the State Patrol report said. The crash was reported at 10:30 a.m. Names of the drivers involved in the crash, as well as the owners of the semi and bus, will be released later by the patrol. One driver was airlifted from the scene by helicopter and the other was taken to Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato by ambulance.
