Assault occurs in downtown skyway

— A Spring Park man was hospitalized and two men were arrested early Friday morning after an assault in the skyway between the Holiday Inn and Alltel Center in Mankato.
Witnesses told police Jason Bruce, 33, was arguing with his wife when he was confronted by three men. Punches were exchanged between Bruce and one of the men before a second man also started hitting and kicking Bruce, leaving him unconscious in the skyway, Mankato police said.
Two of the three suspects were later identified by Holiday Inn security and arrested by police. The incident, which was reported at 2:10 a.m., was recorded by surveillance cameras in the skyway.
Morgan Alex Crooks, 23, of Prior Lake was arrested at the scene for disorderly conduct.
Ryan Lee Olson, 27, of Minneapolis was arrested a short time after the incident. He is facing assault charges.
Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital staff did not have a condition report for Bruce Friday morning.
The third suspect has not been identified by police, and Crooks and Olson are not cooperating, the report said.
