Your View: Americans are hopeful
By Helen Bressler, Belle Plaine
Overall, Americans are smart voters.
We see through media bias. We reject nationalized healthcare because it becomes rationed. People die waiting for care. No thanks.
We oppose war, but know it’s sometimes necessary for defense/freedom. We support our troops.
Regarding war vs. abortion argument: Soldiers pray they don’t have to kill to defend lives. Abortion is deliberate killing and for profit. No comparison.
We’re tired of ever-increasing taxes going to left-wing projects. We want tax cuts.
Most voters know Big Business isn’t bad — it keeps the economy moving and growing.
We can see through the global warming hysteria and its agenda.
We know socialism isn’t equality; it’s enslavement and ends up at the end of a gun. People flee socialist nations for American freedom.
It’s humorous when Hollywood lectures us on politics. Few people are influenced by the polls intended to sway voters left.
We see the damage in liberalism’s failed policies. Instead of progressing it’s taken us backwards.
Americans condemn anti-American hate speech. History tells us in communist/socialist countries citizens were duped with similar propagandist methods. We love our country and thank God for our freedoms. We Americans are blessed.
Voters aren’t dumb. They want limited government, lower taxes, religious and Constitutional rights, traditional marriage, respect for life and a strong God-fearing nation. That’s hope.
McCain/Palin have pledged to preserve our traditions and keep us strong. Please support them in November and also support Norm Coleman for U.S. Senate.
“A nation that kills its own children is a nation without hope.” (Pope John Paul II)
