Your View: Bush bashers are wrong

By Kermit Swanson, St. Peter

Did anyone else notice the front-page analysis in July 27 Free Press, titled “U.S. now winning a war that seemed lost"? It was a collaborative effort by Robert Burns and Robert H. Reid of the Associated Press.

It stated in part that “Iraq has reached the point where the insurgents, who once controlled the cities, no longer have the clout to threaten the viability of the central government and that the combat phase is ending.”

What will the Bush-bashers say now? Curses, could it be said that he was right all along in his assessment of the war in Iraq? That all those Bush haters, including the press that tried everything in their partisan bag of tricks to take him down, were wrong?

If the Bush bashers had spent as much energy in seeking out and believing the truth as they did to discredit him at any cost, we wouldn’t have a divided nation and a mass media that has been aiding the enemy.
