Your View: Stein's film anti-science propaganda

— You claim in your Our View piece on April 26 that Ben Stein “documentary” advocates an antidote to Darwinian evolution. Is it your view that scientific theories are somehow a sickness or disease in need of being cured?
It’d be one thing if this film honestly set out to explain how intelligent design should be viewed as a legitimate scientific theory, or sought to educate on the actual details of evolutionary theory. It does neither.
Instead it seeks only to incite emotional responses by making claims of religious persecution and claiming a causal link between Darwinism and the horrors of the Holocaust.
This isn’t the starting place for a healthy debate, nor is it an objective piece showing the merits and shortcoming of two valid theoretical frameworks.
It’s anti-science propaganda, and it’s morally repugnant. “Expelled — No Intelligence Allowed"; no intelligence allowed indeed.
