In recognition: Rotary's gift to students appreciated

— I am a third-grade teacher in Mankato. As was reported in The Free Press, the Rotary Club distributed Shel Silverstein’s “The Sidewalk Never Ends” to my students Wednesday.
I can’t express enough how excited my students were to receive this gift. There are many organizations soliciting donations, and in this difficult financial time it’s sometimes hard to contribute. I will think of this generous gift the next time I am asked for a donation from any organization.
This is my first up-close experience with the Rotary Club. I want to tell you all how much it means to my students and me. Thank you for the generous and heartfelt gift.
I feel confident in guessing that all of Mankato’s third-grade students (and their teachers) will have a positive and warm feeling when we hear about the Rotary Club in the future.
