Marie Agnes Brazil, age 89 of Green Isle passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at her residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Green Isle. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral time at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements.

Marie was born on March 19, 1920, in Blakeley, Minnesota, to Sylvester and Clara (Barlage) Bigaouette. She married Irving Brazil on September 9, 1940, at Assumption Catholic Church. She was a homemaker during her lifetime and worked at Telex in Glencoe.

Survivors include her children: Mike Brazil of Norwood Young America, Mary Jo Hochsprung of Eagan, Patsy (Johan) Miller of Belle Plaine, Judy (Darv) Rolf of Norwood Young America, Nancy (Dick) McCormick of Green Isle, Jean (Joe) Kreger of Green Isle, Sally (Larry) Thompson of Nicollet, Larry “Buster” (Deb) Brazil of Belle Plaine, Susan (Dr. Steve) Brau of Mason City, Iowa, Marty (Marilyn) Brazil of Litchfield; son-in-law: Don Sauter of Arlington; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; siblings: Frances (Florence) Bigaouette, Tom (Jo) Bigaouette, Dick (Ardene) Bigaouette, Josephine Deutsch, Myrtle Buesgens, Ethel (Andy) Hervin, Irene (Bud) Castor.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Irving Brazil, daughter Lynn Sauter, daughter-in-law Judy Kay Brazil, one grandson, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Ray and Jerry Bigaouette.
