Lake Tetonka is producing a few walleyes in 15 to 20 feet. The weedlines of Lake Washington and the shorelines of Lake Hanska give up an occasional walleye during low-light periods. Madison Lake and the points on Washington are holding panfish in shallow water and Little Jefferson Lake remains a safe bet for northern pike.

ALEXANDRIA AREA
Fish a leech or crawler tight to the weedlines during the evening and you’ll catch walleyes on Lake Le Homme Dieu, Lake Ida, and Lake Miltona. The west side of Lake Reno also is producing walleyes on minnows in 15 feet. Sunfish are wrapping up the spawn and can be found shallow on most lakes. The bigger bass and crappies are relating to weedlines and bars on the Le Homme Dieu Chain. Muskie anglers are raising fish on Lobster Lake and Miltona with topwaters.

ANNANDALE AREA
Crawlers and leeches are producing walleyes during low-light periods in 16 to 24 feet on Cedar Lake, Clearwater Lake, and Sugar Lake. Crappies are on deeper weedlines of Clearwater, Pleasant Lake, and Lake Sylvia. Bass and pike are active on the weedlines of most lakes, and sunfish can be found in less than eight feet throughout the area.

BATTLE LAKE
A jig and minnow is producing walleyes in 12 to 15 feet on Otter Tail Lake as is a Lindy rig and leech in 20 to 24 feet. On lakes such as Clitherall, West Battle, Stalker, and Eagle leeches are best in 18 to 24 feet. Sucker minnows are turning pike in 12 to 20 feet on Otter Tail and the bass continue to hit on most lakes. Look for sunfish in less than seven feet on lakes Blanche, Star, South Turtle, and Elbow. Crappies are in four to eight feet on Mollie Stark Lake, West Battle, and Stalker.

BEMIDJI AREA
Largemouth bass and bluegills are shallow on most lakes. Crappie action has shifted to the 12- to 16-foot weedlines and muskie reports are limited. Walleyes are being caught in 12 to 18 feet on Lake Bemidji during the day and shallower at night on crankbaits.

BLACKDUCK AREA
Evenings have been best for walleyes on Blackduck Lake with jigs and leeches or slip bobbers and leeches in 10 to 16 feet. On Island Lake and Gull Lake, walleyes are hitting leeches and crawlers in 14 to 18 feet during the day and in shallower during the evenings. Lakes such as Gull, Rabideau, Pimushe, North Twin, and South Twin are safe bets for panfish in shallow water.

BRAINERD/NISSWA AREA
Lindy rigs and redtails or leeches are producing walleyes in 15 to 18 feet on Gull Lake, Pelican Lake, North Long Lake, and Round Lake. The six- to 10-foot cabbage on most lakes is holding bass and you’ll find plenty of panfish in the weeds as well. A small sucker minnow has produced several big pike on the weedlines of Gull.

CASS LAKE AREA
Walleyes are hitting jigs and minnows or Shad Raps in less than nine feet on the bars such as Turtle River, Cedar, Tom’s, and East Cedar, on Cass Lake. Crappies and sunfish are being found in the shallows of Allen’s Bay on Cass, Kitchi Lake, and Rice Lake. You’ll find perch in the bulrushes of Cass and Pike Bay Lake. Muskie action is limited, although a few have been taken on topwater baits in the shallow cabbage of Allen’s Bay.

CHISAGO AREA
Leeches are producing walleyes during low-light periods in the weeds or in 18 to 20 feet on South Lindstrom_Lake and North Center Lake. Chisago Lake continues to provide excellent bass action and sucker minnows are turning northern pike in 10 feet at Sunrise Lake. Sunfish are biting on the shorelines or shallow weeds of most lakes and you’ll find crappies suspended over 20 feet on Chisago and Kroon Lake.

CRANE LAKE AREA
Numbers of 17- to 20-inch smallmouth bass are being caught on topwater baits in the shallows of Sand Point Lake and Namakan Lake. There’s consistent walleye action on the 15- to 18-foot reefs of Crane Lake with a jig and minnow or crawler and jig. Some walleyes also have been pulled from the weeds in 10 feet or less. CROSS LAKE AREA
Walleyes are hitting leeches and crawlers during low-light periods on Pelican Lake and Whitefish Lake in 18 to 24 feet. Work the docks and weedlines of most lakes with a spinnerbait and you’ll catch bass. Spinnerbaits also have produced pike on the weedlines and crappies are being found in eight to 14 feet. The bigger sunfish are now hanging on the 12- to 14-foot weedlines throughout the area.

CUSHING AREA
Topwater baits are turning bass on most lakes and there’s a good crappie bite on Fish Trap Lake in eight to 12 feet. Walleye reports are limited to a few fish at night on Lake Alexander in 15 to 18 feet. Muskies are getting more active around the docks and 12-foot weedlines of Alexander and Lake Shamineau.

DETROIT LAKES
Walleyes are hitting crawlers and leeches during the day in 17 to 20 feet and in 10 to 12 feet during low-light periods on lakes Sallie, Melissa, Big Detroit, Sour, Pelican, and Big Cormorant. Sunfish and crappies remain active from the shorelines out to the 12-foot weedlines on lakes Melissa, Big Detroit, Floyd, Tamarack, and Height of Land. CowGirls and BullDawgs are triggering muskies on the edges of the humps on Big Detroit. Bass and pike seem to be hitting on most lakes.

DULUTH AREA
Walleyes are being caught at Island Lake in 20 to 25 feet on leeches and live-bait rigs. Fish Lake is producing walleyes in 15 feet, as is Rice Lake in six feet - also on leeches. Lake Superior is kicking out lake trout over 60 feet and a mixed bag of lakers and cohos in deeper water on spoons and stickbaits. Look to Fish Lake and Whiteface Lake for bluegills in four feet and Island Lake is giving up smallmouth bass in shallow water.

EAST-CENTRAL MINN
Green Lake and Blue Lake are producing panfish from the shorelines out to the 12-foot weedlines. Bass are hitting in the thick weeds of Elk Lake. The Rum River and Mississippi River continue to kick out smallmouth bass and a few walleyes. Look to the deep holes on the Mississippi for channel catfish.

EMILY AREA
The south end of Ruth Lake is producing numbers of largemouth bass. The rock pile in the middle of Ruth is holding crappies. On Eagle Lake, northern pike are hitting sucker minnows in 15 to 20 feet. Crappies are going on West Fox Lake in 15 to 18 feet early and late in the day. Walleyes have started hitting leeches or crankbaits to the right of the access on Lake Esquagamah in 10 feet during low-light periods.
